The Children's Heart Center is an international pediatric cardiac center treating newborns, children and adults with congenital heart defects. Patients come from the United States, Central and South America. The center melds together dedicated and compassionate medical and surgical specialists who represent some of the top pediatric specialists in the country. The Department of Pediatrics is the only Florida program that has been recognized in U.S. News & World Report's listing of America's top hospitals for the past several years.

The medical professionals who represent the faculty provide their young patients with the quality care they deserve and need. The team of specialists in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease includes cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses and nurse practitioners, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, physiotherapists and social workers. The faculty's specific research interests have been recognized by their peers and are part of the multicenter studies in interventional cardiology, fetal echocardiography and ablation therapy for treatment of pediatric arrhythmias. The Department of Pediatrics and the Children's Heart Center are highly regarded. This is evident by U.S. News & World Report's continued recognition of the department as one of the best in the country.
