Since opening in late 2001, the Center has established itself as a premier facility for education, training, and research and development in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.
To promote the highest level of education and training of medical professionals via the most technologically advanced methods as well as to foster research and product development in laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
To become the local, national, and international leader in the field of education, research, and product development in laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
The Center is committed to teaching surgeons the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques so they are well equipped to offer an alternative to traditional open surgery – an alternative requested with increasing frequency. For patients, minimally invasive surgery, sometimes referred to as ‘keyhole’ surgery, offers reduced post operative pain, quicker recovery, and less scarring.
