Vascular Access

The DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery includes a surgical team of experts specializing in vascular access and vein treatments. Marwan Tabbara, M.D., Assistant Professor of Surgery specialized is hemodialysis access and venous disease.  He is in charge of the vascular access, vein services and concurrently directs the non-invasive vascular lab at the University of Miami Hospital.  Dr. Tabbara performs numerous vascular access cases per year and specializes in Endovenous Laser Ablation.  He has developed innovative techniques for buttonhole creation for hemodialysis.  He also performs ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy, and treats spider and reticular vein disease.  Dr. Tabbara has published in many prestigious journals and has made presentations at medical centers on a myriad of vascular related topics across the United States. Vascular access and outpatient vein/sclerotherapy services are available at the UHealth Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Limb Salvage and Vein Center at University of Miami Hospital and Jackson North.
