YOUR SUPPORT CAN HELP
The Burn Center Endowment was established by firefighters, electrical workers, community groups, and other donors to provide funds to ensure excellence in burn patient care, research, and education. The Burn Endowment supports many vitally important programs, including the following initiatives:
- Patient Care
The state-of-the art Burn Intensive Care Unit was built and equipped by the Burn Endowment and provides cutting-edge clinical care. - Research
The Burn Endowment provides critical support for innovative burn research. Research holds the key to improving burn care, and the Burn Center is committed to building a world-class research program where clinicians and scientists work together to unravel the complexities of the body’s response to burn injury. - Burn Prevention and Education Programs
Thousands of children have learned life-saving burn prevention lessons through participation in the Children’s Fire Safety Festival that is supported by the Burn Endowment. The Burn Endowment also supports continuing medical education for the clinical burn team, ensuring the highest level of burn-care expertise for our patients.
The C. Gillon Ward Chair in Burn Surgery Endowment was named in honor of the center’s founding director. Contributions to the Ward Chair provide a permanent source of income for the continued development and enhancement of resources needed to maintain the tradition of excellence established by Ward in burn care leadership, patient care, research, and education.
