Welcome

Welcome to the Division of Endocrine Surgery of the Department of Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Our clinical services are recognized nationally and internationally as one of the top programs in endocrine surgery, the field of general surgery that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, and hormone-producing tumors of the pancreas and gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

The division has been offering top-notch patient care and consultation since 1972 and performs some of the latest techniques in pre-operative localization and intraoperative hormone measurements. These technical advances have made "limited" parathyroidectomy a very safe and effective treatment option and improved the operative approach in treating patients with insulin-producing tumors, among many other clinical benefits.

In addition to providing premier surgical care, the Division of Endocrine Surgery conducts ongoing research to advance the overall knowledge within the field as well as to improve current treatment options.

On this site you will find a list of our faculty and their areas of expertise, information on the various procedures performed by our physicians, and a description of select research projects.

The Division of Endocrine Surgery in the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery at the Leonard M.
