How Corporations Can Help
Surveys have revealed that people are more likely to become organ and tissue donors if they have a better understanding of the issues surrounding this very personal subject. For this reason, Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency provides both public and professional education about donation in South Florida. But we can't do it alone. That's where corporations and organizations can help to spread the word about organ and tissue donation.

Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency asks for your organization to enroll in the Donate Life Workplace Partnership initiative and encourage your employees to do the following:

STEP 1: Find out as much as possible about organ and tissue donation. Get the facts!

STEP 2: Fill out an organ/tissue donor card and/or visit a local Driver License office to have the words “ORGAN DONOR” imprinted on your license.

STEP 3: Tell your family members about your decision to become a donor, as next-of-kin are asked for consent for organ and tissue donation.

In addition to participating in our Donate Life Workplace Partnership program, here are a few other ways in which corporations and organizations can increase understanding of donation:

• Sponsor a donor family from your organization to attend the annual National Donor Recognition Ceremony.
• Implement a leave policy for employees who donate an organ.
• Do something special during National Donate Life Month in April or create your own Awareness Day, Week, or Month.
• Underwrite a LAORA public education donor awareness campaign.
