The staff of the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center is dedicated to providing quality comprehensive care, education, and research for veterans and military patients in South Florida.

Developed as an acute medical and surgical care facility, the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center is one of the largest healthcare facilities in the national Veterans Affairs system. The Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Miami School of Medicine. These two institutions share staff, resources, and technology, allowing veterans’ access to the latest clinical practices and procedures.

The Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a 525-bed facility with 227 hospital beds, 240 nursing home beds, and 58 outpatient beds reserved for psychiatry, alcohol/substance abuse, and rehabilitation patients. The facility is located on a 76-acre medical complex, which includes Jackson Memorial Hospital, Cedars Medical Center, University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Mailman Center for Child Development, and University of Miami / Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Veterans Affairs Center also operates a program for providing substance abuse clinic/health care for homeless veterans in downtown Miami.
