Patient Services

For more than 60 years, the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center has provided veterans with quality care, consultation, and treatments in a variety of clinical areas. Veterans Affairs has focused specifically on the areas of internal medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, neurology, spinal cord injury, and psychiatric medicine.

The center employs highly-skilled, board certified physicians, the majority of whom are faculty members of the University of Miami School of Medicine. There are 2,400 dedicated professional, technical, administrative, and support staff and 1,200 community volunteers at Miami Veterans Affairs. Comprehensive medical care is offered in the inpatient wards and ambulatory clinics of the medical center. Physicians provide both primary and subspecialty care to veterans.

Clinical services are provided in the following areas:

  • Internal Medicine - arthritis, cardiology, critical care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general medicine, hepatology, hematology/oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, pulmonary diseases, and nephrology
  • Surgical Services – cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, general/vascular surgery, urology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, optometry, gynecology, otolaryngology, ENT, reconstructive plastic surgery, hand surgery, and podiatry
